At sea: 10 Wood for a Workbench in your pack
Heading far out? Pack 10 Wood. With it you can repair your ship on any coast.
What works
- Take 10 Wood along, just for a Workbench.
- When the ship is damaged, go ashore, build the Workbench and repair the ship with the Hammer. That costs no further material.
- Take the Workbench down again afterwards: you get the 10 Wood back and are ready for the next repair.
What doesn’t
- Trying to repair without a Workbench nearby. The game says: “Missing the required crafting station”.
- Sailing on with a badly damaged ship. If it breaks, you are swimming in the middle of the sea.
Why?
A ship belongs to the Workbench, like a building. You can only repair it when a Workbench stands nearby, within 20 metres.
The repair itself costs only a little Stamina. One blow of the Hammer makes the ship whole again, without wood or nails.
A Workbench costs 10 Wood, and taking it down gives everything back. So even on a bare island with no trees you are not lost.
